SCADA System for Irrigation and Storm Water Pump Stations

Silvertech is currently executing a major and prestigious SCADA project with the Municipality of Abu Dhabi. This is an EPC project with maintenance for five years.

Through this contract, a new SCADA system is supplied to provide the Parks & Recreation Facilities Directorate (PRFD) of Abu Dhabi with a means of integrating existing control and monitoring schemes under one system, and provide central monitoring and control of irrigation and storm water pump stations and fountains for the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

The key elements of the project include:
•    Construction of Abu Dhabi Irrigation Services Center (ADISC) Building at Mussafah, consisting of G+4 floors.
•    Supply, installation and commissioning of new RTUs and integration of existing RTUs (total 300 RTU) to the new SCADA System.
•    Supply, installation and commissioning of master SCADA System and Disaster Recovery System (27 blade servers) with SCADA software.
•    Supply, installation and commissioning of SCADA workstations at Local Control Centers at IPS-1, IPS-2 and for O&M locations (30 workstations).
•    Interface with Landscape Irrigation, CMMS and AIMs Systems
•    Supply and installation of new field instruments (around 100 flowmeters, 50 MOV, 130 float switches, 50 level transmitter, pressure transmitters, analyzers, etc.)
•    Associated cable tray and cable trench works
•    Supply and Installation of a complete Instrumentation Lab
•    Improvements to automation, including development of a Master Sequence for distribution of TSE to irrigation reservoirs.
•    Metering and automation of supply of potable water to existing irrigation reservoirs.
•    Provision of mains power supply for existing metering sites including cabling and all necessary coordination with ADDC.
•    An integrated web access facility shall be provided for both the SCADA System to facilitate access by all users (100 concurrent users) such as O&M Contractors, Consultants and PRFD-personnel.
•    Configuration of the Historian to calculate, store and report equipment status, alarms, energy and water consumption at each facility and in terms of O&M Contract Areas.
•    Upgrades RTU communications systems from dialup to 3G communication using DNP protocol.
•    Extension of Abu Dhabi Municipality Fiber Optic cable networks for connecting the new SCADA system at the new project’s building.
•    Maintenance work for 5 years after construction completion.
